Have you ever been told something was impossible? Maybe it was a dream that seemed too big, a situation that felt hopeless, or a goal that everyone said was unrealistic? I've heard "that's impossible" more times than I can count - from starting a business with no experience to believing relationships could be restored after they seemed completely broken.
There's something crushing about that word "impossible." It feels so final, so absolute. Like a door slamming shut on your hopes and dreams. I used to let that word stop me in my tracks, convincing myself that maybe some things really were beyond reach.
But then I discovered Luke 1:37, spoken by an angel to a young woman facing the most impossible situation imaginable:
"For no word from God will ever fail."
Some translations say it even more directly: "Nothing will be impossible with God." This wasn't just encouraging advice - this was a declaration of God's unlimited power. Mary was being told she would conceive as a virgin, carry the Son of God, and change the course of human history. Talk about impossible.
